I can not find in my service manual the weight of an L-134 engine.  Before I pull my carport down getting this engine out of the back of my truck, does anyone know the weight minus starter and all external parts and accessories?  (No, I didn't lift it into the truck to begin with-in case someone is curious.)   Thanks.   Don Parrish  15720

Thank you all.  I think I can estimate something close from here.  Too much for carport is becoming obvious.  Why did I sell the engine hoist I had fifteen years ago...he asked himself.  Don Parrish

Ramps are pretty usefull things for this....if you have a high spot to back up to you can slide off and load onto a handtruck or cart.

The local u-haul here rents cherry pickers, might be worth a try.
Or go to the local scrap metal yard and find three steel poles about 2" in diameter and make a set of tri-pods.

Somewhat related.  My son went to High School with this kid.  They claim he picked up a Chevy big block and carried it.  I am a believer.
