Would anyone know where they were made (Make) ?
Are they stamped, do they have any serial number or other marks ?
Are they known to be weakening much the frame ?
Thanks for sharing your experience...

P.S.  my 2A still needs a 'Monroe 3 point hitch' ... so if you have one 4 sale  Wink

I had one on my jeep in high school (1972) and I don't recall any marking as far as manufacturer.  I also don't recall any problems with my front suspension except I had to really slow down for the drainage dips in the street or the front end wouldslam really hard and off-road, the holes in the road made the ride really rough.

Going uphill was better with the weight than without it.

The AG weight was used to counter the heavy rear mounted attachments that were used on the farm and in other applications. It was not meant to be used at highway speeds. It's like 285lbs of crap sitting on the space between the frame rails and front bumper. Steering is affected.......for sure. The springs are compressed and the stress put on the joints of the suspension is noticeable. I do not know who made them and do not recall any special stampings.....but since you asked I will have to inspect mine and find out for sure.
I  don't think it would kill you to have one mounted on a vehicle that you drive a little bit every year but to have one on a daily driver might be asking for trouble. The only "well documented" daily driver I know of is JPET's General Wlllys and he drives that thing like it was a Taxi cab. He doesn't have one....just saying.Big smile

I have one on my Jeep and have never seen any marking on it. I do know many of them had large divots in the tops of them were they cooled after being made, or there was not enough material in them. There are also slightly different versions for the 2a and later models due to the need to get them between the gussets that hold the bumper.

Saw two different weights last weekend where one had a larger drain hole cast into the weight to drain water from each of the handle pockets.

Yes he has a few, going price seems to be about $250, with freight being the biggest issue for me a fellow member put me onto one that was advertised locally in Utah for $150, it slowly made its way here!

I have not fitted it yet but once I put a seeder driven by the PTO on the rear end then likely the weight will go on.

They are difficult to handle, be aware!

Harry Sheets (Midwest Willys in Crawfordsville, IN) will bring one to the reunion if you give him a call. He has a bunch of them at his shop but since they're so frickin heavy he may not bring one unless he knows someone is after one.Big smile

I still think someone should pull a plug mold off one of those....if they can make fake rocks oughta be able to make a lightweight version of one of those too.

I think I found him one 2,000 miles or so closer to home....

Roc, I think that's what Fred did for CJ2-09. I think he said they are aluminum or something.

Bill and Roc:

Yes, my good friend Daron Wanberg had a mold made from an original cast steel Agrijeep 40 lb. bumper weight half section (8 total half sections required for the 4 Agrijeep CJ-2 bumper weights) then had those half sections cast in aluminum.  That's what the 8 half section bumper weights on CJ2-09 are made from, cast aluminum as seen here:

Yep I think that would work well for the ag weights as well....cast aluminum would be good.

I think that polymer that the company that makes the mock-up engine heads and blocks out of would really work well too.

Maybe somebody could 3D print some? Wink  (I wouldn't charge much for the idea) LOL
