Well here are some pictures of my project, I bought this 46 from Munkjeep. Keep in mind, I'm learning how to weld on this jeep ha-ha.
Here's the skinny tires on it

Looks like a Willys MB body tub for sure. Welding just takes practice. I've been practicing for years. You have to hold your mouth just right to get a good weld. Oh, and the wind has to blow from the right direction too! John

That does look like an MB tub. Does the frame have a circular plate behind the front seats? As for welding, I find it helps to try and balance on one foot. Make sure the light isn't too good and use an old fashioned, non-auto darkening helmet. I have also tried sacrifices - usually clothing, but sometimes skin - works for me. |

Looks great! You got a great start there, WWII body and looks like at least one solid rim! You need a military grill to go with it!

Let me give you more history, the jeep is a salad or frankenjeep. Its a 46 chassis with an mb body on it. It has a cj2a gas tank and a fuel filler sticking out the panel ha-ha. The rims are not solid and are from a cj2a. A guy from work blasted them for me and then I painted them od green. No plate for a machine gun. It runs good and I have replaced almost everything on the brake system "not the drums". I'm still looking to trade or get decent money for the windshield off this so I can get a cj2a windshield. I would even take something that is not as nice as my cj3a "nothing rotted or incomplete though". I find if I close my eyes I weld better ha-ha.

Here are some more pictures, I decided to make my own braces because of being on a tight budget. They turned out decent, nothings better than professional though, I need to learn how to cut a straight line in metal ha-ha.

New Floor plates for a t90 in a willys mb ha-ha
Passenger side cowl pane and side panel that were rotted!!!!!!!!!
A really bubba'd rifle rack
That is all that has been done, I just can't believe how long it is to block out panels.
