No, duals are not needed for Tincup, and since they make the vehicle footprint wider, may be problematic.

I will take a full set.  It is most likely that I will find another set of the dual hubs without studs than with studs.

I wish I knew I was going to run up on a set of adapters, I'd commit. They just don't seem to come along at a very decent price. I wouldn't mind having duals on 'Ted' for the novelty of it mostly.

Thanks Ralf. So far 40 studs are spoken for. As soon as I get a commitment on 1 more set (10 studs), I can pull the trigger. Once I get orders for 50 pieces (5 sets). I'm closing the door so if you are thinking about a set, you better post up.

I spoke with Jeff about the Dual Wheel Studs and he would like to have me take over making them. While I can't do them any cheaper, I can offer some metallurgical expertise to make them better. 4150 alloy steel in the annealed condition will only have a tensile strength of 109,000 psi which is quite low and will stretch after torqued. I recommend making them from 4140 alloy steel and heat treating them to Rc 33-39. That will make the studs equivalent to grade 8 bolts.... 150,00 psi minimum tensile strength. Also, I will have them zinc plated for corrosion resistance. I'm willing to make these in sets of 10 (5 RH thread, 5 LH thread) as per the print in the opening post, but will need will need a commitment of 5 sets. So far I count 3 sets and a possible 4th set if Sonoblast77 would like a full set.

Sonoblast77 -- I can make you a half set, but in that case, someone else will have to order a half set as well to even out the order. In the end, I will need to make a total of 50 studs to differ out the fixed costs as to match the $16 per stud price tag.

Hi Ralf (and all),

I was hoping to have the last set sold before I start on them. Is anyone in a hurry for these? I wasn't planning on having anyone prepay for these so payment when they ship out will be fine. I will notify all that ordered when I have them finished. As far as starting the project, I will PM those that ordered to confirm their commitment to buying them prior to starting. I have one set left to sell, so if anyone would like one, please speak up.

I received a partial(un-plated)set of Dual Wheel Adaptor Studs yesterday afternoon, after beating poor Joe up for a bit to get enough studs to mount my DUALS. I want to say the Jeff & Joe team are the Best and they did an excellent job making this happen. These are spot on and the thread fit is perfect. Thanks so much for your great work Guys. I can't wait for the full set to arrive once they are plated. To receive parts of this quality was sure worth the wait and everyone that purchased a set will surely be pleased!
Great Work

I have done another run of Dual Wheel Studs in both RH and LH threads. They are made from alloy steel, hardened to the same strength of a grade 8 bolt, and zinc plated. Price is still $18.03 per stud.

I've been contacted to make the longer style studs for the later style dual wheel hub found on CJ5s. I currently have orders for 2 sets. Would anyone like to add to the order?
