Well that fu***ng master cylinder just does not fit properly in there. It comes in contact with the steering and the engine. My new plan is to build my own mounting bracket from scratch and place the dual master cylinder in a good location. Then I’ll deal with getting the pedal and ram to work with it. Up to now I have been positioning the master cylinder based on where the ram strikes. But clearly that is not going to work.
Anyhow I took it apart again and filled the bolt holes in the frame today. I also got the generator mounted. |

I gave up on Herms master cylinder mounting bracket and made my own. I have a little more work to do but so far I’m really happy with it. I’ve got the master cylinder positioned properly (I think)🤪

Almost.
Maybe next week. Life keeps getting in the way. I’ll try post a video when I do get it going.

I got the brakes in hopefully for the final time.
It’s nice and solid and does not conflict with the engine or steering. Clutch control tube is next. |

You forgot to put the tub on first!
Seriously though it is coming along very nicely. |

I think I might take it for a spin around the block without the tub first!

Jon your brake and clutch paddles are the same as mine. I was told that they are Ford paddles.

Thanks for the comments.
Gil, You are correct. They are reproduction Ford pedals. I had pedals but they had been bastardized by a previous owner, so I figured new was the way to go. My jeep is part ‘42 GPW so it seemed appropriate. I think I’ll leave them the olive drab colour as an hommage to its military roots.

Mike,
I did make it to be snug. Just going to paint it. If it does not work out it’s easy enough to redo it down the road.
