The [ shaped brackets with the bolt at the top wrapped around the springs I believe are military GPW style.
I reused the ones I could and had a metal shop bend up some new ones for what I needed to replace. Can't remember what it cost but it was really cheap. Ron at RFJP.com may stock them. Jon

cooper Shawn and myself had a great visit yesterday over at Jons to talk about jeeps and parts , I just happen to see a great article that you would be interested in about the rims we were just discussing at your place, sorry I don't know how to link it to here but it can be found in general discussion under Kelsey Hayes rims, scroll through and look for the link, they look just like your rims

Thanks Andy. Those do look like my wheels.
1959 according to the article. I just need one or 2 more. Waiting to hear from the hoarder in Aldergrove still. Then maybe sell the 1959 M38 wheels. Jon UPDATE: I have been asking the wheel question on other websites as well and there is a strong consensus that these wheels are most likely from a Willys pickup truck. Makes no difference to me. I just need one or two more. Edited by 92889 - 01 June 2017 at 3:40am |

Just looked at your whole project so far. Awesome! Time well spent with my morning coffee. I learned a lot. You are a lot further along than I am on my project. Looking forward to more of your progress. Thanks for sharing.

Front axle is all back together.
I hope I got it right. I guess we'll see. GPW military style knuckles did not give room to connect steering with the 11" brake plate.. Replaced with later CJ2A knuckles give me more room to connect the steering. Edited by 92889 - 01 June 2017 at 3:18am |

That would truly be the blind leading the blind.
I have no idea what I am doing. I take about 1000 pictures of everything I dismantle. Ask 1000 questions on 3 online forums. I am fortunate to have a friend who knows what he is doing to help. I also have all the CJ2A and GPW manuals. It's a bit confusing at times as this jeep is a hybrid of a few jeeps already. And I am trying to use the parts I have to save costs. Hopefully it works out in the end. |

Does beer make your project go better? Seems to help (for me) on the dismantle stage. I don't know on the rebuild stage.

I spent today breaking down both Ross boxes.
Next to pick which parts to use for rebuild and order a rebuild kit. Lots of parts to choose from. |

Finally got around to U-Blast in Langley today.
I love going there. The inside of the Ross box looks much better. Waiting for the rebuild kit from RFJP. It should arrive tomorrow. |

I made some progress today. Got the axles attached to the frame
The wheels are the mismatched ones that came with it. Still looking to complete my set of Kelsey hayes rims. Edited by 92889 - 24 June 2017 at 3:40am |

WOW! I love it! Maybe by this fall I will have my baby to that point. I have a hundred questions for you but you have enough to keep you busy. I'll keep following.

Thanks Ron, you are too kind.
I got some steering parts primed and painted today. All the replacement parts have arrived and all my existing parts have been refurbished. I should have the steering connected up next week. |
