Now I'm embarrassed to say that I have a GDZ4817 and VRP-4007 C-2, both rebuilt 12V... I'm just too chicken to install them LOL

Well then get over that and I’ll send you a bottle of Elmers glue☝️…..😂😂😂

My 2A came from the PO with a Chrysler Alternator, fit like a Packard V12 in a Crosley, and about 75 pounds of various iron to make it happen😬 then it decided to full feild one evening and burnt the light bulbs out. Removed everything and put a 12V generator removed from a gladiator truck (a real one) from a wrecking yard, and a fresh Napa regulator, been trouble free for well past 10 years (knock on wood) most look at it thinking it’s still 6V, the smarter ones ask if it was special order 12V, why yes, yes it was 😂😂😂

☝️Keep in mind, a 12V Autolite generator and regulator bolts right in place, that and a dab of Elmers glue can make your man card nearly full length once again 😂

Thanks for the comments and opinions and even some well placed jokes!!

After some tweaking, I’ve decided to keep it….for now. The intent is to some day go back to 6V. I have to collect some more bits. At that point - maybe I’ll hunt for a 6V Belleview which would be more period correct.

In the meantime I’ll enjoy this phase for a while. A well placed 8274 always makes me smile.

Perhaps it’s time to trim the Man card 😬 Just wait, the self exciting 10SI will be next☝️

I think he already has that Shocked

Here I am in my glass house, throwing stones LOLEmbarrassed (humming classic Billy Joel), My older 46 came to me, and still has, a single wire 12v in it. I'm not proud of it, but have been collecting the necessary bits to right this wrong Ouch

(...and for the record, the earlier 46 is and will remain 6v Big smile... though it came to me with lockers and 4 wheel disk brakes SleepyLOL )

I'm fixing previous owners transgressions as fast as I can, lol Thumbs Up (but I do feel a little dirty giving Andy a hard time, though not so dirty I lay awake at night because of it Wink )

While I also appreciate the look of an unmolested flat fender frontend, I also kinda like the idea of having a winch to get out of some place it should have not gone into. Wink
If ya got it, use it.

No Fenda followed the applicable policies and procedures of the Willys Overland Jeep Police (WOJP) and applied for a Deviation Permit.

He documented that no original parts were harmed, and the Jeep cound be returned to original format upon request.

Based on his usage pattern and conditions, it is not uncommon for him to need a Winch with the fastest line speed on the market to keep the Jeep on the trail.

Carry On...
