I had a head bolt that had stripped threads for the head nut. Removed the bolt with the help of an external ez out. Now, I want to install the new head bolt. How do I tighten the bolt to the block?
Do I double the nut and lock them to tighten or just hand tighten the bolt and use a torque wrench for the head nut?

Chase the threads with a tap. Then clean the threads with some brake clean on a Qtip. Do the same with the new stud. Then fill the threads on the stud (the end that goes in the block) with permetex #2 sctew the stud in finger tight until the swell in the middle of the Stud is firmly seated against the top of the block. Remove any excess sealer. Then allow to set over night and contine replacing the head

A number of the head Studs go into the water jacket hence the Sealer and it seams to work best if you allow the sealer to set up over night before torquing the nut down.
