This week we said goodbye to to our friend and companion of 14.5 years. Her name was CJ and I cannot believe how much I miss her.

Sorry about your loss Doug. It's amazing how the four-legged Furry Friends grow on you and how much they are missed when they are gone.

to many jeeps, parts, and accessories to list here, but apparently enough to keep me in trouble with my wife.

Condolences....

We lost my Rocky at 14.5 years as well. Still hurts and I still miss him ten years later. I feel your pain. Our girl Margo is seven she’s an amazing pup. You never really heal. But their spirits live on. I swear sometimes Margo knew Rocky somehow.

Sorry to hear the news Doug.

Like others have said the attachment and devotion is amazing.

After my little Cocker died years ago I decided to get another. I kept him for about a month before giving him to a friend. Completely different disposition.....totally different dog.

I've not had another one since. That was 30 years ago and oddly enough she will still show up in a dream every now and then.

You will always remember their unconditional love.

I like to think I can be an emotionless hardass when the situation warrants, but losing Casey after 16 years really rocked me.... It's fascinating how much they become part of the pack.

Took almost 4 years before the Mrs could talk me into another.  There is still a puppy pic of Casey on the kitchen hall bulletin board.  Every once in a while I notice it again...and it makes me smile Smile

I hear you brother. Very sad when we loose a 4 legged family member & like Rock said, they are always a "totally different dog". Very hard to fill the void with a new one when you have had such a good pal for so long.

My condolences Doug.  I get way to attached to my canine friends.  I have two that I expect to be giving that final goodbye in the next year.  15.5 and 14 years old.  And yes, just like people, no two are the same.  It would be a very boring world if that was the case.

But I know my wife and I will be getting another.  Can't imagine life sans a dog.

Sorry to hear of your loss , Doug.  They each have their own personality and become of piece of your family.  For our family, we have always had to wait for the grieving period to end, then when the time is right, another comes into your life to add another chapter and fond memories.
