    Posted: 09 Aug. 2015 at 3:57am
I'm looking at buying a M416 trailer that still has the original Pintle/Lunette eye setup. I would like to replace it with a ball type hitch. Has anyone tried to make a Fulton 308 hitch work? I don't want to cut off the Lunette just remove it. Any photos or tips would be helpful. I still want to use original landing leg if possible. Thanks

The frame width is wider on a 416, so the angle of the frame at the hitch is different than the earlier trailers. I have a 416 modified Lynette eye I would trade if your interested.

I have two m416 trailers, both have the pintle eye.I had a machinest mill a ball hitch style set up,I can change to whichever I want by simply removing the large nut, sliding out one and inserting the other.

I had this machined so I could bolt on a ball style hitch to my m416,my pintel hitch can still be used, or I can remove and replace it with this one ( obviously I need to bolt my ball mount on the homemade one). I hope this helps.

Trailer is on hold for now. Owner not ready to sell. My engine is almost ready to pick up from shop. I'll work on that for now. Thanks for the idea, I think that would work for me also.
