A little fitting, drill some holes and a little welding and grinding and that should be it.

that is a really nice and practical mod.  Do you know whether this approach would interfere with a Harrison heater that was already in place?

This photo should illustrate the proximity to a heater (although this one has the defroster motor)
 
Not trying to hijack Lee's project but I had this photo available...
 
(should be noted, mine may be tucked up a little farther under the dash than most but not sure of that)
 
More suitable for 'gloves' now. LOL

You can call that one a glove drying compartment, I have a small square heater that came in one of mine, I think it may fit. Just finish welding and some grinding and that's it.

That roll cage/defroster has got to be one of the coolest things I've seen, how does it work?

Finished welding and grinding today, a little filler and some sanding then ready to prime.
