I have a ramsey 4000lbs pto winch I am mounting to my m38. The problem I have is the pto hits the exhaust and wont let me install it. A guy on the willysmjeeps site said that the install manual calls for flexiable exhaust pipe. Does anyone have the install manual or a pic of there install?

Bill, is this a supposed stock setup?
If not, I'd look into using a carrier bearing and a two piece shaft. Not real fond of flex exhaust tubing myself. |

It is the stock setup for a cj. this is not a military winch. The problem I am having is the exhaust pipe is hitting the pto itself. I may just end up bending the pipe.

I have some info for the Koenig that shows an exhaust adapter of some sort. See page 1 and page 7 for the CJ5: http://48cj2a.com/images/Koenig%20King%20CJ.pdf
I may have something for Ramsey, but not here at work. I'll look when I get a chance.

Thats a great manual.
Check out the winch anchor section. Who wants to hold the shovel when I start winching? Russ |

My winch is a 4000lbs ramsey, not 8000 it is a civvy winch. I will heat and bend the exhaust as shown in that manual

I have the Ramsey catalog and the jeep front winches are models 101, 200, 246 and they are all 8K line pull rated. The rear and bed winches for jeeps are rated 8k, 10K or 12K, Bill
