The key switch was a key switch with the coil as an assembly. It mounted through a 1 inch hole in the dash. I am trying to find a on/off key switch for that 1 inch hole which just has the 2 positions to mount into that 1 inch hole. Everyone wants to sell you a 3/4 inch switch.

Any one know were I can find a switch like the one I need that mounts into that 2 inch hole ?

Thank You in advance

Bought mine from Overton's. I changed out my keyed coil for a Pertronix coil which I block mounted. The bezel around the switch was enough to cover the hole in the dash. It's a brass switch designed for marine use and has held up well for almost 2 years. Then, I used some stainless machine screws to fill the 3 holes from the coil bracket. Hope this helps.

If you get the 3/4" switch with a aluminum nut you can machine/file a step into it that will fit through the hole like a keyed coil, then make a flat plate to mount the switch to and screw it to the back of the dash just like the coil. A little more work but makes it look like the original switch.

Or you can simply use the switch I suggested and then fill the coil plate holes with standard or machine screws for the original look.

That would be the switch he would need to do what I said, the specs show it to use a 3/4 hole. I just meant if he was concerned it would fit loose and not look correct he could do what I said. But I've seen that switch used a number of times successfully in the 1" dash hole and it works ok.
