Hi All,

Here are some pics of a '75 CJ5 I recently picked up:

It has a 350 chevy and is fuel injected:

This is the jeep I was working on in another post where the bearing retainer on the transmission adapter kit was broken.
Advance Adapters Question

The jeep has a T-15 with a dana 20. At first I thought I had noise in the transmission but now I realize it is coming from the transfer case.   I am not too familiar with the dana 20 but this is the original single stick. The only way you can tell if you are in 2WD hi or 4WD hi is by watch the drive shaft. You can't feel a detent or index in the shifter. Same with neutral. You have to guess position. The shifter will not go into 4WD low. ....So I have a little work to do there. It runs pretty good in 2WD and of course it has tons of power. 15mpg driving 50ish and about 14mpg @ 65ish.

The body is all fiberglass other than the windshield and grille. I have not named the jeep because I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. Originally, I was going to modify the frame and put my repro MB body kit on it to make a guiltless MB that I can drive anywhere but idk. Looks like a lot of work and this jeep looks so nice, I hate to go modifying it. It's very frustrating. Ever since I got jeep fever, I have been able to keep it under control to somewhere around stage 1 or 2 but lately it has escalated out of control and I can't make up my mind what to do! . Anywho, that's what I'm up to lately.

Does this work as well as an overdrive in attracting the fairer sex?
Two jeeps on the road, one is close and the rest are dreams.

..... er .... um .... No! In fact it is the opposite. That is how I know my jeep fever has surpassed stage 2. I am at the "forgiveness is better than permission" stage. . In her words, "everywhere I look, I see Bam Bam... in the garage, in the basement, in the yard,.... wheels, frames, engines, here a Bam, there a Bam, everywhere a Bam Bam!"

I will hang on to this one for now and just work on the t'case till I decide what I want to do. I'm going to bring this jeep to the reunion and I may even use it to haul GW up there. I like this jeeps 3.73 gears for the highway but with a 2:1 low range coupled with 3.73:1 diffs does not give it much of a crawl speed so I might have a tough time if I wanted to run with some flattys. In the end, I'd like to end up with a flatty that I can drive at reasonable highway speed to some of these get togethers and then hit the trail with all y'all. Something like Noel's GPW that he had on the CFCT a couple years ago.

I would consider trading this jeep with someone who had a setup that would be easier to put an MB tub on.

I'm not. It's already modded. It has a fiberglass body and a 350 Chevy engine.

Congrats! And so your Jeep family grows. At least one of each would be nice. Looks great.

well I certainly would hope so. We drove 50 miles together today and we will head to work together first thing in the morning.   Over 8000 miles now since October 1

8000 miles----wow. They used to say a Willys go devil was good for about 10,000 on each overhaul. Anyway, I'm glad he isn't forlorn. I always let the new addition to the family bond with the others and leak oil on the floor together! Clap John
