Sean--
I recall thinking this over last year, and how good your work looked. I do not have the wearing problem and all my clips are still there. I simply have driver's side sag, and pretty bad at that on the rear. All round, someone in a spring shop has turned up the eye-ends of my springs, front and rear to get elevation back, so I think I have some severely compromised tension in the main leaf of all of them. My rig carried a farmer-rigged mower deck on the REAR most of its life and I guess that weight did its mischief on the rear springs, and the mowing venue--a lowland swampy meadow at near water-level of a local lake that must have been bumpy, did the rest. I remember a long time ago during post WWII years reading that jeeps that were given the the Greek Govt to run rebels [probably commies] out of their country, had a very short life span due to the rough roads that trashed the OE springs right off the bat. Maybe the USA specs were tolerant of spring weakness because the jeeps were considered expendable, anyhow and likely to be blown up or otherwise worn out by the time the springs would give out. Who knows. All I know is that I need a complete set and have been unable to come up with anyone who dabbles in leaves. Some of the NOS guys have odd leaves here and there, but without access to a whole set, you could get an awfully miscellaneous collection that would add up to nothing.

Hi!
I'd like to know the correct size of the spring eyes. It seems the front springs on my CJ2A have both eyes with 7/8". The rear springs though have 7/8" on the shackle eye and about 13/16 on the pivot side.
The bushings I bought have 6/8". Is this the correct diameter the pivot eye should have?

Pivot bushings are 3/4" outside diameter. The spring eye needs to be a few thousandths of an inch smaller than that, to achieve interference fit. 13/16" eye is too big, the bushing will fall right through.
Shackle bushings are .880-.884" outside diameter, so 7/8" sounds about right for spring shackle eye.

Thank you Sean for your information. I guess these leaves are not the original.

OTOH, just filling the pits isn't structural, so some other flexible filler would likely work best. Sean
