New here, so bear with me! Bought a YS-637 knock-off carb from AJP for a mere $75, eBay, NIB, but was warned that He had a problem with idling. No blame, my bad, I took a chance! Whatever, has anyone had any experience with this unit, and if successful, what was needed to make it work.

As an aside, I have NO idea who made it, but it looks really good.

Hoping,

Bill

AJP probably bought it from Brent Mullins jeep Parts. He was selling these also. Make sure the metering rod jet has the correct opening. Drill size is #41. I got 3 working used original YS-637S carbs and there is not much to them except float setting 1/4 of an inch and idle mixture screw. Also make sure diaphrams are not leaking. Good luck.

OMG - I got it to work!

#1 - Float level, WAY off, shutting off fuel, (low level in bowl)

#2 - Upper hole in Bleeder tube (Item RS in manual) partially plugged with small residue from drilling it
       during  manufacturing process.

#3 - Bleeder tube not tightened, possible partial air leak

Which one did the most good? Darned if I know Big smile

Thanks for all the help, gave me the impetus to open it up!

Glad you got it going. They are a cool carb for they where the first type to be fully waterproof. Easy to work on as you found out.
