We got a break in the weather here in central pa. hovering right around freezing with sunshine and no wind. The salt was pretty much off the roads from the last snow so I got the jeep out.

World's fastest Willys jeep! Another great video, thanks for sharing Falcon. I love the sound of an 'oil burner' when it's cold! Does the TDI smoke much in cold temps?

Thanks! It handles the cold pretty well. I get one little puff of smoke when it’s cold but it clears up in 2 seconds. I had a cold start video somewhere I’ll see if I can find it.

Looks like fun.  What RPM  does it idle at?

It has a dynamic idle control program. It’s based on coolant temp  When it’s cold it will idle at 1130rpm and it will slowly reduce in 50 rpm steps  until the coolant temp sensor reads about 120  or so then it settles at 924rpm. That’s the normal idle speed. Coolant temp was 19 degrees when I started it in the video. I don’t have a lot of videos of it idling warm but here is one from before it was finished that shows it idling at 924rpm.

I feel like a total WUS! Here in So.Cal, the jeep stays in the garage if it drops below 70! But that scenery is much prettier than mine for sure.

Thanks Brian! I love driving my Jeep but sometimes when it’s freezing cold I have to push myself to get it out......I never regret it! Taking video gives me a good reminder of how fun it is! Then I have something to watch when the weather is really crappy!
