I've never sand/media blasted before but jumped at the opportunity at a free cabinet that needed some work.
I'm blasting aluminum oxide at about 80psi and it's cleanin my intake and exhaust manifolds nicely. I need to hook up the light that's in the housing still but it is fun to use! |

Blast cabinet is one of those things that, I don't know how I ever got along without one. I use mostly glass beads, but I've never tried it on rocks. Would the aluminum oxide work better on rocks? And why, anyway, would you media blast rocks? BW

I didn't think the title "media blasting parts kicks ass!" Would fly with the moderators. LOL
I've blasted my intake and exhaust manifolds... time to find more stuff that isn't covered in grease! |

Here's my blast cabinet, lighted with its own vacuum system. It's about 30 years old but still works great. It seems to work best with glass beads, but I also use wind blown river sand from our local river bed. Like Bruce said, it's hard not to have some type of media blaster. I never blasted any rocks, tho.

I sincerely regret that I know what a Kardashian is, even though I didn't find out until the 21st century.
