Sooo, i think i may have some bastardized hubs, i also attempted fitment of some spare inner hub seals I had bought, they also just fall in the bore...anyone else have experience with oddball dana 25 hubs? These were supposedly mid 50s cj3b axles. Herm still sold me Chinese junk thoughLOL

FWIW, the races I have for the newer hubs are Timkens, #LM501310.  The bearings are Timkens, #LM501349.  The seals are unidentified, with "C-A 3558" or possibly "C-A 3668" molded into the inside.

d-27 front hubs are slightly larger if I remember correctly. Ran into this problem when trying to use some spare hubs I had laying around.
The hubs look different if you set a D-25 and D-27 side by side.
The 25 has raised ribs where the locking  hub or Drive flange bolts on. 27 has filled in sections. Don’t know if that makes any sense.

   Bryan,

Good thing you dismantled the 25 in the shop rather than out on a trail.

Just curious, What do you think of the 4.3 setup ?

Would you explain what transmission and t-case he's going with ?

I have never owned a 4.3, but did drive my sister-in-law's 4.3 Van, and I was impressed.

And on your buddies 4.3 project does the overall length of everything workout pretty good for rear driveline length ?

   thanks

   Len

the 4.3 swap went good, it's a well built engine, so it's got probably way more power than the jeep needs, if you check out the modifications from original page there is a few photos and whatnot in a thread called swapping a 225 for a 4.3. It fit well, had to move things forward an inch or so, it has big hei distributor so we needed the room. In hindsight we should have ditched it for A standard disteibutor..just too big. A local drive line shop added to the rear and shortened the front shaft for a couple hundred bones. Oh and he just has the t90/dana 18 combo. The t90 has the longer t90j input shaft installed.

It's not crap then!  It's "stuff" or "leftovers" but far from "crap"!  Thumbs Up
