I fitted new oil lines from (I am guessing - they look identical though) the same source, and after 9 months of just sitting there (I hadn't even got around to starting the engine) they were cracked and perished. Although incorrect, I switched to the braided hoses. I don't mind replacing an old part much, where necessary, but I resent spending $35 on new parts, only to have to replace them again without actually using them...

I had the same problem, I got mine from Kaiser, I had an extra one lying around for some reason and just replaced it.  The stuff they are making for these jeeps isn't worth a pot to p#%s in sometimes.

Send me the hose - I'll fix it or make you a new one.Either way, I guarantee the fitting won't come out.  Is this the block to oil filter hose?

Let me guess-- the fittings required an 11 mm wrench, rather than the 7/16" that it should be....   BW

This is why I made all my fuel and oil lines out of braided hose and AN fittings.

I've got a full set (3) of brand new oil lines that I refused to use just for that reason. I'd make someone a heckuva deal on them.    BW

Nothing "correct" or "real deal" on any American vehicle from the '40s or '50s requires any kind of metric tool. My opinion, from my experience.   BW

I understand the frustration.I just bought barbed fittings and made my own from high pressure oil resistant hose. They don't look original, but then they don't spray oil either.Wink

Yeah, it's really too bad-- people ask me if it's hard to find parts for these old jeeps, and I tell them, "You can get just about any part you need, the trouble is, none of it is any good".     BW

Oh, by the way, you might try Walck's, he won't sell the import oil lines anymore. The ones I got from him 2-3 years ago are still holding up well.
