I’m sure this question has been answered on the form somewhere but I sure cannot find it. The question is in installing a new oil pan gasket do I need to put any kind of sealer on it to keep it in place. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to accomplish this. Thanks

It makes it easier if it is held in place if the motor is still in the jeep. A thin layer of Permatex II on the pan would work good or another way in years past we would use sewing thread and tie them in place through the bolt holes. You would have gotten more response if you would have posted your question in the general or tech questions, this one is for info on how to use the forum. Jim
