Cleaning up the data plates on 43432 last night I noticed something odd. On the Patent Plate (in the engine bay on the fire wall, next to the body tag) it has the stamped serial number CJ-2A and 43432. Below in the pre-printed text of the plate were listed 3 patent numbers, and a place where apparently a 4th number was ground off.
If I knew how to post a photo, I would.
there are (or were) 3 numbers on the first line, and one number centered on the second line.
The middle number on the first line has been very neatly, but noticably, ground off.
Anybody know the story behind this?
thanks,
Marshall

That one is pat. 2,184,553 - "Window Weather Strip & Drain", apparently pertaining to windshield glass-to-frame installation.

Thanks, Sean. Anybody else seen that number (or any other) ground off?
Perhaps a temporary dispute between WO lawyers and the patent office?
