Good evening. Okay,Here is my first problem that maybe one of you could help me with. As I said I bought this Bantam T3-C and I am getting it ready for the sandblaster. The previous owner for some reason cut off the landing leg right at the point where it bolts to the bracket! I have tried everything to remove this bolt! This is what I have tried so far. Air tools including air chisel, air impact, breaker bar, PB blaster, propane torch and muscle. I used my grinder to cut off the nut hoping that would work, I guess a 69 year old bolt is stubborn. I am 62 so I can understand. I am a pretty decent mechanic so this is frustrating. I just have to ask, is this a left handed thread? I assume that it is.

My first thought after I get it removed was to and have my welder weld back on the short piece with the 2 bolt holes in it and then buy a new leg to bolt on. The leg is $55. The landing leg is $89 so I am trying to save some money.

Any thoughts or comments? I welcome them! I am going to follow your directions on uploading pictures soon and start my project page.
Thanks,
Chuck

Does it pivot back and forth like it should or is it frozen?
It may take an oxy acetylene torch to get it cherry red and release it. The pivot bolt is pretty thick.

I have moved it with a hammer but it is really stuck. I will continue to use oil and some back and forth movement. I will also use my small torch in that area.

Great news. I have successfully removed the landing leg bracket! I also was able to remove the (4) small bolts that hold the hitch bracket. The last bolts to remove are the 2 large bolts holding the chains to the hitch. They are ,like the others really stuck. But I will get them off this weekend! Thanks for the good advice 48cj2a! It helped.

That's encouraging...I have a early 40s Bantam T3 or Willys MBT military trailer to do the same thing to. I cut it all apart last weekend because it was so badly rusted beyond saving so I'll be parting it out now.

Not much on this one but list what you need in a new post in the wanted to buy section.

There is no landing leg or the cast part it bolts to on this trailer.
