I bet you could run those things at about 4 lbs off road and never have any trouble.

I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to sound argumentative.

I’ve driven Rick Cline’s 2A with the super traxions at 12 psi and it rides like a baby buggy off road, I believe Rick Giles runs the same or a like tire on his M38 and his also rides nice, I still would rather have a radial, I also like the look of the Parelli in Oldtimes post, better check prices

Right, I understand I should have stated 10 ply rating.
A couple CJ's (years) ago I ran a set of Michelin Military XL's take offs. They were standard on Canadian Iltis military rigs. I found them to be near indestructible albeit rather stiff. Very narrow tread and they had full patch contact at 25 PSI The 6.50 x 16 Michelin 10 PR tires work well on the 4.5" rims. Tubes not required. You can see those tires in action here if you scroll down a bit. But I do love the tread design on those Coopers. I did read somewhere that the Coopers are siped along the sidewalls to help with the tire flex. Just no perfect narrow Jeep tire out there for all driving conditions. Lee, I got my Pirrelli's for $142 each delivered. Been a while right after they first came out. I think maybe it was "Simple Tire" out of Florida ?? Edited by oldtime - 07 Feb. 2019 at 1:31am |

I believe the coopers when I bought them in November were $136 each from discount tire direct. Free shipping and no tax.

That's pretty close to what I paid for my coopers. I think I paid $530 shipped. I got them on ebay.

Not with D30 axles and 5 X 16 " KH wheels at standard wheel inset. D30 shaft joints intended to run at 27-1/2* maximum steer angle. If you have D25 or D27 it depends on the axle shafts installed. I don't think 7.50 tires running Bendix shafts at 23* angle will touch upon the leaf springs. If you have D25 with Rzeppa shafts at 29* angle then the largest tire you can run without spring rub are the 6.50's. It is the actual corners of the tread lugs that hits and nothing else normally matters besides the wheel set. The tread width and diameter of the Mud Scorpions is near identical to the 7.50 tires. So if you want full steer angle at max possible 29* (Rzeppa only) they can be run on D25 with common 1-1/4" wheel spacers. Most all KH (some exceptions) have the same amount of wheel inset ... 3/4" inset from true centerline.

This happens to be a 7 x 15 by Aukret and it’s 12 ply with very stiff side wall. Once my tub is back on I’ll learn how rough they will be.
