Hello All
I have a doubt also for these windshield brackets and screws mounted on my CJ2A VIN 12121
They are correct?
Why the screw doesn't goes inside the hole of the windshield?

Thanks in advance
Christophe

The screw is a top bow thumbscrew for the M38.

Am I wrong in thinking the militarys used a thumbscrew for the windshield too....I know the CJs use a bolt.

Pretty sure thumbscrews are correct for MB / GPW.

Christophe, if you want to use them just ream the hole out a small bit....shouldn't take much.

Could those be lollypop thumbscrews? If they are correct windshield thumbscrews, no reaming should be required.  BW

Lollypop thumbscrews are a different thread I believe.

I thought maybe so too, and I didn't want to say anything before I checked. I pulled a wing-bolt from a lollypop and screwed it right into a windshield bracket. The lollypop wing-bolt has two shoulders on it, and the smaller one fits the windshield arm very well. In fact, the ones I have look like the same casting may have been used to make both, with the shoulder machined differently. So I believe that's what is in Christophe's photo.   BW

Early 2A's had the thumbscrew pivot bolt, same as the MB/GPW, later 2A's had the hex head pivot bolt. The bolt has 3/8"x24 thread and a 5/8" shoulder where the windshield pivots, the thumbscrew type would be the same.
