My 2A came with this rack mounted to the back of the windshield frame. I assume it's a rifle rack. Is this a period aftermarket accessory, something available from the dealer or something homemade? I have no need to carry a rifle, is there any other use for it?
Thanks Steve

My 3B came with exactly the same accessory.  I believe it is a PO add-on.

You could hang a lot of things off the hooks.

K-Mart type stores and most sporting goods stores had those on the shelf....probably still find them without much trouble.

Most mounted in the cab over the rear window in pickups.

Yep. Aftermarket add on. Like them for reason. Keep hoping to find a set at the swap meet but haven't yet.

Thanks guys. I saw one photo of another jeep with a very similar set. I can see how handy it would be for a hunter.

Thanks guys. It sounds like they are nothing special. If i can get some touch up paint made up, I may remove them.

Hang 'em on your shop wall....they make great extension cord hangers.

As has been said, they are handy, I often use mine for fishing poles. My sister uses them for her camera tripods.

If you do not want them, trade them off on this site.

I'll let you all know if I decide to remove it. If nothing else, it makes a great hat rack.
