I really like the weber. Another member on here had allowed me to make one adapter from a Cad drawing he made. I later found out that there are off the shelf options to do the same thing: http://classicinlines.com/

When you buy the carb also buy a additional jets that come in the little red box. Once you have it let me know and I will be able to tell you what jets I am using. That was the annoying part. It took me some time to get the tune just right. I should atleast be able to get you a solid starting point.

Headed up to a new place this morning. Sparky is still running well, gremlins here and there, but nothing awful yet.

I am picking Sparky up on Easter. He has been napping the winter away in the warm garage at my Mom's house. The parking spot he sits in is the first place he came home to when I was 19. I have run him around a couple of times during the winter to keep everything moving and lubricated. I have been pining for a ride in the Jeep for weeks now. Even my kids have been asking about him. My son checked the barn last weekend to see if he had returned.

Sparky now has a modified late CJ5 roll bar. Though I have never been close to a roll, some of the trails I use have the opportunity for it. Since my son quite often rides with me now it was decide that it was time. It is attached in such a way that it engages basically the whole rear body. Currently is is gold colored which is terrible, but I plan to match it in the next couple of weeks.

I am adding a minor mod to my front end with the disc brakes, however this may apply to the stock hubs as well. I am adding a grease zerk and grease pressure relief valve to the front hub. Every year I tear down the front end to grease it up and just about every other year I find one set of bearings is a mess. The idea of this mod is similar to my theory about the dripping transmission. If it comes out the bottom and I add it to the top it is always clean. I can add fresh grease ever few weeks and push out any bad stuff that got in.

Greaseable front hubs mod appears to be a success. I will post some pictures to the mods page in a few days.

It only took me 10 yrs to mount the spare. Don’t mind the mess in the barn. |

If only my garage were that "messy"! I'm overflowing with "stuff" I can't seem to [make myself] get rid of.

I just noticed that the tire obscures the right tail light. Honestly I forget to turn on the brake lights half the time anyways so no real loss.

The little barn is perfect for the jeep. Every time I see this photo I picture some teenage descendent of mine opening the doors after I am long gone to discover a gem that has just been waiting for his arrival. Edited by 52 M38 - 21 June 2020 at 12:11pm |

A friend of mine makes a light relocation kit so the spare does not block it.
