I have a 1991 Ford F-150 truck.

Every once in a while, the starter solenoid won't disengage after the engine starts. We are talking maybe once every six months; so I have to get out, pop the hood, whack the solenoid. Usually when this happens its about 100 degrees outside.

I cleaned all the ground connections.

I guess the solenoid just likes to 'weld' itself to the terminals.

I know I can keep replacing solenoids. But I was wondering

1) what else should I look at
2) what brand of solenoid do y'all like (e.g. Standard, Airtex, Wells, BWD, AC/Delco, Motorcraft)

Starter is cheap O'Reilly replacement, works pretty good

Ground wires all gone through to make sure they were not 'rotted out' inside...
