I went to the Jefferson swap meet today. That's Jefferson, WI. Second only to Iola in size in Wisconsin. I never seem to find much in the way of WILLYS gold until today. For a paltry sum of $30 I was able to grab these items......

Wow, how can those steps have never been used?  Amazing!  I'd love to find a pintle hook myself.
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

to many jeeps, parts, and accessories to list here, but apparently enough to keep me in trouble with my wife.

No. No they are not. This is a genuine WW2 MB pintle hook......they do not grow on trees and are not easy to come by for less than $150. I wouldn't bother to post a "common" pintle hook as a great swap meet pick-up. No sir! What we got here is.......the real deal. I am still living on this high from these pickups since they come along so infrequently.

Hey Damar2xyz(sorry forgot your handle), how about a few pointers on how to tell original and military? I picked this one up at a garage sale a few yrs. back, one side canton o the other side says Wallace forge. Thanks Joe Wadoyado

Ah yes. A test.
You may call me Dave. Damar2yxr is a long story.......
Original WW2 pintle would have no safety pin.
T60A should be cast into lower jaw
T62x should be stamped or cast into upper jaw.
Holland mfg was responsible for all WW2 era pintle hooks....except for GPWs. Ford made their own castings that had a big ass "F" cast into it. Any who, Holland  won't be stamped anywhere on the hook. Any other manufacturer stamp or casting makes it a post war item.
Mind you I am not saying your pintle hook is not a good option for your post war jeep. Its just not a WW2 pintle hook. A pintle hook for a 2A is nice if you have something to pull with it but if you mount it in the holes provided you won't be able to open your tailgate all the way.

Just a point of info, I'm pretty sure that's Holland Mi. about 30 mins. from Grand Rapids. I'll keep an eye out for ya, because I'm not planning on ever mounting one....remove the rear pto? I don't think so. Besides I never been fan of Military Jeeps....Agri-jeep for me. Joe Wadoyado
