Went out to the blacksmith shop and fomed two tail gate chain hooks

Hi and welcome to the site. Nice blacksmith work!
 
 A while back I posted this photo about the correct method of hooking the tailgate. If you notice the hooks have an offset bend. This is needed in order to hook the tailgate properly. This is also the reason for the elongated slot in the tailgate. This is the only way the tailgate will lay in the same plane as the bed.
 
There is actually a left and right hook.

i don`t know if i have the right bent in them, but there is a left and right hook, i copy the  one that came with the 1948 willys. thanks for your repy.
