While not a radial, the STA Super Traxions are a popular mud and snow tire for CJ2As.  For a mostly stock jeep, I'm not sure there is much advantage to a radial tire.   I put the 6.50 x 16 Super Traxions on mine and I'm very happy with them.  They look right, handle just fine and provide great traction on most anything.

Thanks. They look great. Just started on mine. I was trying to find some tires locally and seems radial was my only choice.

I couldn’t find the 6.50 x16 Super Traxion listed at Summit Racing, but I’m sure they can get them. They are actually made by Coker tire and sold through Summit. The reason I mention Summit us that they offer free shipping.

I run the 7.00 x 16 NDTs that I got from Summit.

I just put on Cooper discover stt pro 215/85r16 tires on my 3B.  I put new 6” rims on due to the original rims had been over tightened over the years.

I don't know much about Coker except they are an old and well know specialty tire outlet.

STA's are made out east in a town called Indiana, Pa,

Coker NDT 7.00x16 on my 48. They five me great clearance, do not rub, and ride surprisingly well. I keep about 20psi in them for road cruising.

I use my '46 CJ2A for both on road (daily trips here and there) and off road, primarily on dirt and gravel type roads.  I have Cooper Discoverer Radial LT, LT 215 85R16 and love them.

And I picked up this free accessory traction device one day out four wheelin'

6ply tire shouldn't be too stiff but I bet they will flat spot after sitting for a bit, but will round out with use.
I had the 700-16 NDTs from STA from universal vintage tire tire.

The radials will be softer but then who cares whether our jeeps are smooth while driving around with smiles on our faces.

Belleview ol skool winch soon.

Welcome aboard Animaldoc and greetings from a Texas neighbor!

Here’s a thread on the tires I selected.  They are supposed to be the cat’s meow for mud, but I don’t know about that cuz I h8mud 😁.  I avoid it whenever possible.  Anyway, these aren’t radials either, but I’m liking them more and more all the time.  Yes, they are stiff.  Come up to Amarillo, doc, and I’ll show you how they perform in person.  We could even hit some mud 😜 (yuck, lol).

I like the vintage look of the DEESTONE D503, however, I'm not sure about size and availability? It appears they have a 7.00-16 which I believe will fit a stock Willys witout rubbing?

Now see I am going a different route. As I am building CHUG to drive itself to what ever far off place of adventure I plan on visiting. I have done a couple things. 1. is the 30% OD (which some say is to stiff for the 134L) and to accommodate the OD I am going to run 29" tall P235/75R-15's an extremely common tire size the same as my Dakota Pickup runs. I'm looking at a Mastercraft (division of Coker I am told) They are not very aggressive but at highly rated for snow and Ice will ride nice and not be so noisy on the road. And their cheap. I'll mount them on my 15x6 US Wheel Series 68's

Mark, they are made by Cooper.

I'm running Mastercraft Courser LTRs on my daily driver '04 Wrangler.

I run the Dees tone 503 7.0x16. They fit with no rubbing under normal conditions. They are close to the front Springs at full turn.  Pros were price and style (my opinion). Cons took a ton of weight to balance and they are probably a little stiffer than some other options. Good luck

I knew that Chad I just got in a hurry. But thanks for straightening it out. I been fighting my back the last days. So I'll blame it on that.
