Since that is a colorized photo(or really, an illustration, I'd say), just personally, I don't put alot of stock in the two tone wheel theory myself. I think it is just artistic license on the colorizer's part....(just like the body color bow strap.
I've yet to see a photo that I thought was a two tone factory wheel.....why would they do that as notoriously penny-pinching as they were know to be?
Just my opinion.

Another thing I found at the AACA library was this interesting combinations of ads in the post above. The one with the solid color wheels I had not seen before. Looks like the same setting and pictures.

I agree....still don't believe in the two tone idea, but that's just me.
It makes no sense as penny pinching as they were. Purely an advertising ploy or artist's wishful thinking. |
