Disassembly:































I don't know how to get this screw out? The Flat Head Screw (1446) and Dowel Pin (1444) are staked, I have made the executive decision to leave them alone. Go ahead call me a chicken, that's just fine with me Wink




Parts:

Gaskets and locks from Herm the Overdrive Guy (Great Price):


Selectro hub kit has rounded lock washers.



Warn kit may be for newer type hubs?

Walcks has these washers:


Drive Flange Gasket - Crown Automotive:

Bolts - 3/8" 16 x 3" Grade 8. (Note: Original bolt has 3/4" thread length)


Drive Pin: 1.0625" x 1/4" (I was hoping to replace with a dowel pin, but standard sizes run in 1/8" increments. I will clean up the originals the best I can.

I found this information on eWillys, I would like to add this to the thread for information purposes. I will be using it for reference material. Still in clean-up phase, progress pics to follow.

Pretty much all cleaned up, waiting on parts to arrive in mail. Hopefully be installing them this weekend.

Got the hubs all installed... Coated the friction surfaces with grease but did not completely pack the hubs. I had to shim both sides + 1/16th of inch for the bronze dial to clear the axle shaft when in the 'lock' position. I took both sides off a couple times which was a PITA but not difficult. I used grease on my gaskets. Gave the bolts some never seize, Torqued to 35 ft/lbs and bent over the lock washers. When in the 'free' position the front drive shaft does not spin.

I just got my hands on a set of "single dot" WL-2's and will be following your rebuild info closely. From what I understand, these are the earliest versions that you had to spin a complete 360 degrees to lock/unlock.

Nice job by the way. Hopefully I can clean mine up as well as yours.
