Was doing some trim work on the kitchen cabinets, so I took Veronica down to the lumber yard to pick up some wood.

I had a taste for a patty-melt, so I took the jeep down to Freddy's. It was about 34 degrees and dark out, but any good excuse to go for a ride.

A couple of buddies helped pull trans & TC & bell housing off for a new clutch and re-seal project.  Had a lot of fun.  Thankful for a heated garage.

I finished up installing my Tool box lid, made a backing plate for the aluminum cover I made to cover the floor starter hole, and I worked on the backing plate for the plug I made to close off the huge hole Dad cut in the firewall to access the throttle linkage.

Tomorrow I will finish up the details and get the pieces for both painted.  I'm also thinking about touching up the Gray under the dash where some of the bedliner seeped under the tape. Then more cleaning up in the shop.

SERIOUS getting to work assembling the drive train and finishing up the brakes starts this weekend. Got to make more work room so part of the "Spray booth" has to come down.

It was about 34 degrees last night, I took the jeep out get a patty-melt.  A bit nippy out, but a good excuse for a jeep ride :-)

I like the Christmas lights!  I guess that is a downside of a 6 volt system, more difficult to get an inverter to run lights... πŸ˜žπŸŽ„β˜ƒ

Mine is 6v. The Christmas lights run off a battery pack with 3 AA batteries.

Hobby Lobby has a neat selection of the AA variety if you have those stores down your way.

I got a 20 LEDs light string with battery pack at Home Depot for under $10.  Then used free AA batteries from Harbor Freight LOL  My wife picked up the wreath for about $3 at Walmart.

Would 6V fry those?   Not a huge difference from 4.5V   LOL    Maybe put a resistor inline to reduce the voltage across the LEDs.

Of course it would be easier to use the AA,   but I am reminded of the scores of batteries that end up in the trash, or recycling, every year at our house.   My wife has battery-powered lights everywhere,  and makes me cringe.

Maybe, I didn't try.  But they are LEDs and use very little juice.  I only turn them on when I go out for a ride.  I expect they'll last the season.
