Hello all, new guy to your site!
About 25 yrs ago I fell in love with Willy's. Driving down a dirt road in Muskogee Okla. I found this 1948 Ser#184007 in a field and bought it for $500. Man said it first came from Virginia then to some Gold Mines in Colorado and for the past 28 yrs had been sitting in his field and won't run. I towed it back to Okla. City and within 30 min., an old man that was helping me was driving it around his yard! After spray can paint job, it has sat next to my house for 15 years waiting for a new life and I've since pulled the engine and had it rebuilt by a pro and now am retired and working on a the rest of the restoration. Along with this one I have a 57CJ5 I gave to my son as well as a 53, a 56 for parts and a complete Stainless steel extended flat fender body I don't know what I'm gonna do with... Looking forward to a retirement of a lot of wrenching... |

You made a lefty into a righty. Looks like originally the top bow pockets were on the right side which means the spare would have been on the lefty. They made around 10,000 of them only in 1948. Great looking retirement you have there. |

Welcome to the site. Looks like your '48 is a keeper. Enjoy your retirement. We lived in Yukon 45 years ago, then we moved to Wyoming. Tom

Had a 50 Studebaker pickup several years ago. It was an old workhorse plumbing truck. Have fun working on your Jeep and enjoy your retirement!
