Add says he will do domestic shipping, if the buyer waits for an invoice after the sale, so shipping can be figured...

Looks like the expensive part, the studs, are missing.

Hope 2A, 3A, and maybe even early 5 buyers realize that those studs are likely to be all right hand threads. They should inquire about it before bidding.

"with mill, anything is posible" Joe, maybe you should corner the market on some studs with left-handed threads :) J/S

How hard would it be to make these?
If I had the dimensions for the bolts, I think I could make a set. Same for the spacers; some schedule 80 pipe, 1/2"" plate, welder, lathe and end mill and viola! Anyone have the dimensions or a set that they could measure? Thanks |

Currently Lonnie Deweese is making the hubs and I am making the studs. He has some hubs out of pipe with a plate welded to it, but a potential problem with welding is you need to stress relieve after welding or the plates are going to continue to move after machining, causing the wheels to wobble. I have quoted him hubs machined from a solid billet as an alternative to that problem.
The studs that I make are heat treated to that of a grade 8 bolt, so be careful if you make them yourself to use the proper alloy steel and heat treat process. You definitely don't want a wheel flying off because the studs sheared.

Like Bob said price is really the issue for most of us that want them.
It's not beyond the realm of most machinists it's just that by the time you charge what they are worth timewise you lose most of the 'its a novelty' buyers like me. |

I will be happy to pick them up for the buyer and deliver them to one of the reunions....but my guess is shipping isn't going to be the problem.

I'm retired so I've got some time, I was a welder for 30 years, I have welding machines, lathes and a milling machine.
I wouldn't make a set of these to sell ( liability) so my thoughts are to make a set for one of my Jeeps. I'm confident enough in my abilities to make these, I just need dimensions. Thanks for any info anyone can share with me. |

At 40 MPH I don't see a problem if they fail. They are just added show, your inside wheels are stock. With apologies to OSHA and the MVSA or any other agency. Come on guys, haven't you nailed skates to a 2 x 8 and launched down a hill?
Yes the price is outrageous. I don't remember what I paid for mine but not that much! |
