The Old CJ2A Page Message Archive

Please see Questions and Answers for some topics that frequently appear on this board. As you can see, this board loads rather slowly. If you are posting something for sale, please remember to include your location since someone who might otherwise be interested might not be able to use a part or a vehicle that is too far away. Posting your location when you're selling something that needs to be hauled will save everyone's time (and reduce the number of posts on this already too-slow message board). Thanks.

: i picked up a cj2a with no ID plate that i can find and no title. i have heard that there could be an ID plate on the frame somewhere but no one can agree where it would be. were the serial numbers stamped into the bodies somewhere? i have yet to tear the jeep apart. when i do where should i look for any marks to identify the jeep? just looking at the jeep the only thing i see is it does not have tool indents on the body. not sure that means anything though. thanks for the imput guys.

Have you gone to the main page? Under CJ History it tells you where to look for numbers. Next look at as many photos as you can and see what they have that yours does or dosen't. No indents only means it's a late 2A if it is a 2A. A 3A is very close and sometimes mistook. You can't allways count on color as it could have been re painted. I did not answer you question but I hope I gave you a hint where to look. Bill
