: I'm interested in locating new non-directional tires that are close or actual reproductions of the original factory rubber on a '46 cj2a. I'm not really sure what the "original" tread profile looked like, although I'm led to believe it differed from what willys issued on the MB.

Mike,

I recently purchase 5 4-ply 6.00x16 NDTs for my 2A from Lucas Automotive in Springfield, OH. The tires are made by Denman and have one sidewall that says military on it and one the doesn't. I had them mounted with the military side in. I'm not sure if they are exactly like the originals or not but they are close enough for me and I'll probably never have anyone know that aren't original. Best of all, they were only $48 a piece. Tubes were an extra $9. Their phone number is 1-800-735-0166. I believe they also have a location on the west coast but I don't have the number in from of me. I can get it for you later if you would like. I can also take some pictures if that would be helpful.
