Thanks Glen, not a very elegant design, rather primitive. I never would have believed that was the way it was done, but I can see on the lower hole where the cable has worn a notch, at least on this carb it has.

What S/N is your 2A?, if earlier than 32366, and original, ignore the rest of this posting, I got long winded.

I have another carb, I believe off an early 46 s/n 32366, that has a totally different throttle control linkage mount for the butterfly and am wondering if Willys did it differently earlier on? This carb has both holes on the same plain, not like the later types where the bottom hole, where the throttle cable passes through, is at a 90 degree angle to the throttle lever hole.

As I said in my earlier post, my 2A had a bellcrank affair mounted to the head, maybe a modification some industrious fellow added or real part, I don't know, but it is a much more innovative solution. The thing about this is, that carb, it keeps coming back to me, every other carb I see is off a later 2A and they are different. Actually with this carb, assuming it is a real 2A carb, I know of three different throttle linkage mounts that wer on 2A's, that is on the carb and not the hand throttle assembly.

Maybe someone out there, with an early 2A, can let me know if there hand throttle works the same way?
