The original colored promotional pictures were not correct when the housing was body color.This, I think, is why some of us ,including the authors of some of the coffee table books on jeeps,believed that they started out body color. I listed the serial number changes for the black to chrome trim rings for both the parking lamps and tail lamp in one of the above replys. I took this info directly from the parts manual.
