: Ive got a CJ2A that refuses to start. I recently rebuilt the solex carb, put on a new battery, and installed a new alternator. The alternator has one wire with two push on style connecters if this makes any difference. It will turn over fine and has spark but just wont start. Its was a little hard to start before. How do I change the foot start over to a key start. Is there any place that has a diagram of how a 12 volt electrical system should be wired?

As far as starting I would suggest a tune up such as timing. Usually that is the culpret as to hard starting. As to changing to a key start you have to go to a starter solinoid which ford may have. If you have 12v. they are readily available. You just mount them on your fender well. The wires are put on it same as the foot start. The key ignition you will get will have the term. for the solinoid. As for the diagram maybe one can get a book on ebay for it in jeep catagory. Also you could look at a book store for jeep 6v to 12v change over although I know many jeepers have done this already.
