Put everything in neutral: hubs, transfer and transmission. While designed generally to enable towing, each unit must be individually evaluated. I would submit that none are designed to tow at high speeds over significant distances. Some are so worn, misaligned or whatever that towing at all is not going to work.
Do a test pull with increasing distances. LISTEN for unusual noises. FEEL for heat (friction)at the differentials, rear of transfer and wheels. If it gets hot, it is not going to work.
