I have to second this- I had a similar problem on my '82 Scrambler when the fuel filter got clogged. Unfortunately, something got past the filter and goobered up the carb, and I had to rebuild the carb before it would work right. I think the main jets were clogged, and would give enough fuel for driving up to a certain speed/RPM, but past that point, it was no go. Nick
