When the engine was started after sitting for a while it would run fine but as soon as the coil heated up it would run like garbage. Seen this in cars, lawnmowers, snowmobiles etc...


First cyclinder was around 60 psi, second was alittle more than 30, 3rd one was below 30, the fourth was around 50. My dad said that his gauage might not be totally accurate in that its old and has not been used in awhile. But it gave us enough of a reading to determine that the middle cyclinders compression is way low.

A friend of mine suggested the head gasket could be a problem, since the two middle cyclinders are the ones that are really low. Possibly??

How could we test the coil to see if its working?
