: I'm removing the tub on my 3A and have had to cut the steel fuel line from the tank to the pump because a PO had stripped all the fittings at the tank and midway through the line.

: When putting everything back together should I use steel or just go with a rubber line?

: I'm not going for a factory resto, but a functional one and have seen posts about using both methods.

: Any pros and cons for either are greatly appreciated...

: Thanks!

Tony, Rubber is ok to use on these old Jeeps and was used for years in sections of the fuel system along with steel. It's no longer used in new vehicles because almost all have the fuel pump in the tank and have high pressure systems. That puts pressure in the system from the tank to the engine. Just make sure you use fuel hose and not vacume hose. It'll probably outlast your Jeep.
