Sorry, Joe, I misunderstood the problem. My 49 2A has a split sleeve (welded to the frame) with a pinch bolt to clamp the 7/8" pivot bolt. Is this the same as your setup?
Could this work - cut a thread into the existng hole and bolt up the sleeve that carries the two needle bearings? Maybe 15/16" (if available) or a 1" thread. This will alleviate the need for a precisely bored hole. Or maybe a few small diameter set screws tapped into the wall of the tube to secure the bolt.
There are precision reams on the market, but they are expensive and won't remove much material, but will clean up a poorly drilled hole. Let me know.
