You can test a coil by puting the pos of the battery on the pos of the coil have a spark plug on the end of a plug wire into the coil ground spark plug to the neg then off the neg touch it to the neg of the coil and pull it off as fast as you can. If you see a spark on the plug your coil is ok. or take it to a parts house and have them test it usually this is free. good luck

: Is there a way to test a coil and condenser? Also, can leaving the ignition key in the on position by mistake for several hours damage the coil or condenser? Don't remember doing this, but for some reason I suddenly lost spark at the points. Fire getting to coil and points are set at .020. All working one day and not the next. Coil, points and condenser relatively new.
