I just found a WO advertisement that says they are "cellulose acetate". So I'm sure I was wrong about the glass. They were, in fact a form of clear plastic. I noticed later that you are missing the center spacer rod (or bow). I have a photo which shows the center spacer rod from the early 2A. It is in fact a 5/8" tube with ends crimped and bent to an approx 90 degree angle. The length of the rod might be different from a 3A/3B. I will send you the photo I am referring to if I can compress it into usable size. The center spacer rod should be easy to make. (If I can't send the photo I will send a drawing. but you muxt get the true length from another 2A.) Another thing I noticed in your photos was a comment that the horizontal top bows were reduced at the ends to fit inside the verticals. My verticals are 1" and the horizontals are 7/8" (outside diameter) so they slide together perfectly and don't need to be reduced. there is another interesting difference found in the crook of the verticals..... You state that there is a thin rod inserted through the end at the 2 3/4" point from the end of the tube. Mine (3A/3B) uses a different system. Instead of a rod there are sharp indents in the tube which do the same thing as the rods on yours. They are just a cheaper way of doing the same thing. bart
